There is no disputing the fact that Davido is one of the biggest artists in Africa presently.
However, there was a time in 2016, when he had a poor showing due to his inability to drop hit songs.
Explaining what happened, Davido said that the idea of Sony Music trying to make him sound like a foreign artist was responsible for his poor showing then.
The ‘If’ singer revealed that his label then was really pushing him to sound foreign because they felt that you need to sound that way to be accepted internationally.
Recall that the Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) boss had to return to Nigeria where he dropped ‘If’ and ‘Fall’ and subsequently bounced back.
