Pop singer, Davido might see inside of a jail if what NDLEA’s head of public affairs, Mr. Mitchell Otufoyeju has said is anything to go by.
Otufoyeju, is quoted to have told a soft-sell magazine in an interview that Davido legally risks a 15 year jail term as a penalty for his offence if found guilty.
This is based on the NDLEA Act section 14 sub section A which states that “anyone who incites, promises, or induces any other person by any means whatsoever to commit any of the offences under the NDLEA Act is liable.”
The NDLEA is investigating Davido for depictions of substance suspected to be hard drugs on his ‘Fans Mi’ video.
Meanwhile, the artiste’s manager, Kamal Ajiboye has been quoted as saying that the NDLEA have not contacted them in anyway and that they read the news on the pages of newspapers. He further added that when they wrote the script for the video, it was not to portray Davido as a drug trafficker.
