A former media aid to Goodluck Jonathan, Doyin Okupe, has reacted to news of his son being gay.
Okupe who confirmed the news on Thursday, January 21 via a post on Facebook, said he believes his son needs spiritual help.
He stated that he is opposed to homosexuality as it runs contrary to his Christian faith, but expressed hope that divine intervention will one day change his son’s sexual orientation.
The father described his son’s current situation as a spiritual challenge. Okupe said: “For me, I look beyond the surface or the physical. Here I see a major spiritual challenge ahead but I know as my God liveth, this whole saga will end up in Praise to the Almighty Jehova who I serve day and night.”
“Behold, the hand of the Lord is not shortened that it cannot save, neither is His ear deaf that he cannot hear Isaiah 59 vs 1.”
