The Department of State Services (DSS), has repeatedly arrested the suspended Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.
Emefiele was said to have been arrested on Friday, May 9th, 2023, shortly after he was suspended by President Bola Tinubu.
According to the president, Emefiele was suspended due to the ongoing investigation of his office and the planned reforms in the financial sector of the economy.
Folashodun Adebisi Shonubi, has since been appointed as the Acting Governor of CBN.
Prior to his appointment as Acting Governor CBN, Adebisi Shonubi was the apex bank’s Deputy Governor, Operations Directorate.
