The Special Adviser to the Edo State Governor on Media and Communication Strategy, Crusoe Osagie, has stated that whatever tactics adopted by the All Progressives Congress (APC), ahead of the governorship election will fail.
Osagie stated this while revealing that the APC was using underhanded and diversionary tactics in a bide to win the election.
He said the candidate of the APC, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, and ex-APC national chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole are behind the plot.
Osagie however revealed that the plans of the APC chieftains will not save them from defeat at the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
He said: “After weeks of a lacklustre election campaigning in some local government areas of Edo State, with rented crowds, candidate of the APC, Osagie Ize-Iyamu and his godfather, Adams Oshiomhole, are panic-stricken over the electoral failure that awaits them at the poll.
“They have resorted to the use of underhanded and diversionary tactics, one of which is the sponsorship of groups who are making astounding allegations, with the intent of portraying Governor Godwin Obaseki in a bad light.
“Their ultimate aim is to divert voters’ attention away from such issues as the credibility, integrity, and capability of the gubernatorial candidates.”
He further noted that “the baseless allegations are the creations of Oshiomhole and Ize-Iyamu, who are convinced that they will lose the September 19 gubernatorial election.”
“Edo voters know that Ize-Iyamu and his godfather are relying on violence, external forces, and campaign of calumny, which will not save them,” he added.
