There are reports that at least three police officers have been shot in an attack by EndSARS protesters on a Surulere, Lagos Police Station.

According to the report, the attack was aimed at retaliating the death of an EndSARS protester killed by a police officer in the area.

The ongoing attack has left many people in the area injured.

Confirming the attack, spokesperson of the Lagos Police Command, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said that three officers where shot and are at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

He was quoted to have said: “Yes, they attacked our Anti-kidnapping unit at Iyun road, three of our officers were shot, they are at the ICU (Intensive Care Unit).”

There had earlier been reports of shooting incidents and violent arrests of protesters in other parts of the state, including Barracks and Ojuelegba.

Recall that while reacting to the protests that have taken over the country, President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo had both pledged comprehensive police reform with Buhari, saying the disbandment of SARS is just a first step in such reform.
