A Federal High Court in Kano has directed the state government not to enforce the emirate council repeal law 2024.
The court presided by Justice Abudllahi Liman granted an ex parte order restraining the Kano State government from reinstating Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II.
A report monitored by www.theoctopusnews.com on Daily Nigerian on Friday morning, May 24, noted that the judge gave the order on Thursday night, May 23, even though he is reportedly in the US.
The order directed all parties involved in the sociopolitical struggle in Kano State to maintain status quo.
Recall that www.theoctopusnews.com had earlier reported that the Kano State House of Assembly had passed the amended bill on Thursday, May 23, and it was subsequently assented to by Governor Abba Yusuf.
