The Federal Government of Nigeria has given the nod for the construction of the Lekki Airport, and Lagos Development Vision.
The approval was given as part of efforts to boost the transportation sector.
The Lekki airports in the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government area of the stat would be constructed around the Lekki Free Zone (LFZ).
It is expected to assist manufacturers and other business owners within the zone to transport their products abroad.
Also, the new airport would be offering individuals and corporate organizations options from the existing facilities across the state.
The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, announced the approval and handed over the approval documents to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, at the Ehingbeti Economic Summit in the Victoria Island, Lagos State.
