Fight Breaks Out At PIB Public Hearing

The public hearing of the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) in the House of Representatives was disrupted by a fight on Thursday, January 28.
The day’s hearing chaired by Hon. Mohammed Monguno was inconclusive, as two members of the oil host communities engaged in a fisticuff.
Report emerging indicates that the fight broke out exactly 12:10 pm, during the public hearing at Room 028, after one of the elders of the host communities was denied the privilege of addressing the house.
Police and Civil Defense operatives were drafted into the venue of the hearing to calm down frailed nerves after the fighting had been stopped.
