Asides his qualifications and experience, many close friends and associates of Godwin Emefiele the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)’s Governor would argue that his humility is his magic wand.
In the past, it has been said that when he was to leave his appointment as Group Managing Director of Zenith Bank Plc, he took his time to say farewell to all cadre of staffs at the bank.
Emefiele’s humility came to fore once again only recently when he gave out all the gifts he received during the burial of his late mother.
For a man of Emefiele’s standing Silver and Gold are but the least of gift items he received both from friends and captains of industry.
However, the worth of the man’s gift is not what is attracting fans to him, but his humility.
Emefiele buried his dead on Saturday, April 2, in Agbor, Delta State and gave out the gifts from the event to several motherless babies and charity homes the next day.
Madam Alice Emefiele who died on Friday, December 25 2015, at the age of 94 is described as a devout Christian, farmer and trader.
