In the ancient city of Ibadan where the contest was intense, Twinszobia Twins and Muhideen Adisa emerged victorious while Sunday Olayiwola (aka Temitope Ajani Oluaye Fuji) and Akanni ‘Banana’ Olajide qualified from Akure. In Ikare, Adekunle Mudashiru and Adebola Muyili got the nod to proceed to the quarter-finals while Bukola Omoyajowo and Fasheko Olorunleke emerged from Ado-Ekiti. The winners stand the chance of going home with up to N1.5m cash and other exciting prizes at the grand finale.
It would be recalled that Marketing Director Nigerian Breweries Plc, Walter Drenth during the course of the auditions, expressed great satisfaction over the huge turn-out of Fuji lovers and artistes. While explaining the rationale behind Goldberg’s Fuji to Bam initiative, he said, “Goldberg is a quality lager beer that celebrates consumers and their traditional values. Fuji music enjoys huge followership across Nigeria which has led the brand to provide the Fuji To Bam as one of the platforms to further engage and connect with our consumers.”
He also added that the programme was a worthwhile event. “The Goldberg brand believes that many parts of the country are endowed with talents in music yet to be discovered; and I believe that as the talent hunt contest moves to other locations,
Fuji to Bam will discover more Fuji talents that will become great music icons like KWAM1, Pasuma, Saidi Osupa and others”.
Current Goldberg Ambassador and winner of last year’s
Fuji to Bam contest, Nurudeen Atanda (Antenna), who was a guest at the Oshogbo auditions, stated that the brand made good its promise of rewarding him with a cash prize of N500, 000 and other gift items last year when he emerged winner. He stated further, “What Goldberg is doing for Fuji music is great, they are really giving upcoming Fuji artistes in Nigeria an opportunity to shine and excel. I’m really proud to be associated with the brand and I will keep thanking them for giving me and others a platform to excel and become relevant in the music industry today”
