The Federal Government has been accused of being an accomplice to herdsmen attacks across the country.
The accusation was brought against the Federal Government by the Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom.
According to Ortom, the attitude of the Nigerian government towards the activities of armed herdsmen and bandits demonstrates complicity in the killings and kidnappings.
The governor also claimed that their actions and inactions have demonstrated that they accept what the suspects are doing.
Further, he questioned why bandits have not been declared terrorists just like IPOB and Biafra which according to him are the same thing.
This is not the first time the governor would be accusing the government of complicity in the activities of herdsmen in Nigeria.
In February, Ortom alleged that the Federal Government was bias in handling cases of attacks allegedly carried out by armed herdsmen.
In reaction to the outcry against the atrocities committed by herdsmen ranging from kidnapping, destruction of farmland among others, Ortom said the government has failed to secure the country.
Ortom had earlier claimed that bandits operate in not less than 24 states across Nigeria. He stated this on Thursday, April 15, at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Correspondence Chapel, Abuja.
