The police in Anambra State have confirmed the burning of the secretariat in Aguata Local Government Area.
Aguata is the local government where Governor Charles Soludo hails from.
According to reports, the gunmen who rode on motorbikes used a truck to block the road, after which they entered the secretariat, and set it ablaze.
They also destroyed shops situated in the secretariat.
The spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, who confirmed the incident could not confirm if there were any casualties.
