Information linking Governor Okorocha’s financial role in the concluded APC National Convention has emerged.
An insider source opposed to the maphianist role played by the Chairman of the convention committee and Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Abubakar Badaru revealed that few days to the convention, the Imo state Governor, Okorocha had secret meeting with his Jigawa State counterpart on how his face could be saved.
According to him, after much deliberations between the duo, Governor Okorocha ordered one of his orderlies simply identified as Ogbono to bring the yellow bag popularly called “Ghana Must Go” from a black SUV, adding that the money was handed over to an Aide to Alhaji Badaru after Governor Okorocha had told him that the money was five hundred million.
He maintained that after the delivery of the N500 million, the Chairman of the convention told Governor Okorocha the need to keep another N500 million aside for the party exco, to enable him facilitate the rigging.
Continuing, the insider source further disclosed that apart from the N1 billion already shared, Governor Okorocha also gave N500 million to security agencies to allow his hired thugs entrance into the convention venue with vehicle bearing inscription of “Special Duties” while adding that another N750 million and N500 million respectively were shared to his fake delegates, militant leaders and thugs accordingly.
According to him, while Governor Okorocha shared N100 million to convey states delegates with over 200 vehicles across the federation to Abuja, another N200 million was shared for feeding and accommodation.
Disclosing further, the insider source maintained that despite the N500 million earlier given to Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Badaru and convention Chairman, another trench of N300 million was shared among delegates from Jigawa, Kano, and Ogun states respectively to enable them vote for Barr Ibediro.
The source while expressing bitterness, said that the level of financial inducement on some Governors, made the convention chairman, Governor Badaru not to include Senator Izunaso’s name and picture in the ballot papers shared to Jigawa, Ogun and Kano state delegates.
He therefore wondered why the convention chairman could declare Barr Ibediro winner after members of the central convention committee had agreed to declare the election into the position of Organizing Secretary inconclusive.
Meanwhile, it could be recalled that due to the financial inducement on the convention Chairman, the earlier protests by Imo delegates as led by the Deputy Governor of Imo State, Eze Madumere before and during the convention was ignored by Alhaji Abubakar Badaru.
