Senator Akin Odunsi, representing Ogun West Senatorial District in the Senate, would have been disgraced on Saturday, August 24, but for divine providence.
On the day, the man was to commission the newly rehabilitated Ijamido Hall in Ota, Ogun State and was also to be installed as the Maiyegun of Otaland.
On getting to the town hall, he was barred by security men allegedly sent by Governor Ibikunle Amosun, and guests including the traditional ruler of Otaland, Alayeluwa Oba Moshood Alani Oyede and his chiefs had to relocate to the Oba’s palace.
Though Odunsi was unable to commission the town hall whose renovation he singlehandedly financed, he was, however, honoured with the chieftaincy title of Maiyegun of Otaland, at the palace of the monarch.
