Despite being Nigeria’s pride in aviation, Africa’s renowned seer, Primate Babatunde Elijah Ayodele, has prophesied challenges ahead for Air Peace.
Chairman/ CEO, Air Peace Allen Onyema
According to Primate Ayodele, the Spiritual Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, based in Oke Afa, Lagos, the airline could face condemnation and difficulties in its operations in the near future.
Speaking through his annual prophecy compendium, “Warnings To The Nations 2024/2025”, Ayodele stated, “Their efforts will not be appreciated. The airline operators must pray against blackmail.” He also forewarned of potential legal battles, urging the airline’s management to seek divine intervention to avoid court cases and false accusations.
“They are going to make tremendous efforts to uplift the country’s image, but they won’t receive the level of appreciation they expect,” Ayodele added.
Recently, Air Peace faced a setback when the UK airport authority refused to grant the airline landing rights at Heathrow Airport, forcing it to operate from Gatwick, a secondary airport. This prompted Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, to issue a formal diplomatic letter requesting landing slots for Air Peace at Heathrow.
In the letter dated August 1, 2024, and addressed to the UK Secretary of State for Transport, Louise Haigh, Keyamo cautioned that failure to accommodate Air Peace at Heathrow could lead to retaliatory actions, including denying British Airways and Virgin Atlantic slots at Nigerian airports.
However, Airport Coordination Limited, the UK’s independent slot allocation authority, revealed that Air Peace had missed two critical deadlines for securing slots for both the Northern Summer 2024 and Northern Winter 2024 scheduling seasons.
