Nigerian musician, Solidstar whose real name is Joshua Iniyezo has revealed how he was introduced to hard sunstance in 2011.
The ‘One In A Million’ singer has been struggling to maintain his sanity for a while, with reports that he was severally spotted wandering in Festac Town, Lagos.
In 2023, his brother Joseph Iniyezo reached out to members of the public for assistance via the singer’s verified Instagram handle, stating that the singer was indeed sick and battling mental issues.
Speaking in a recent interview, Solidstar opened up about his journey into drug abuse. He said that he went through a lot while battling with drug abuse.
According to him, he was introduced to a banned substance called Ice in 2021.
“A lot of things happened to me. Young young boys introduced me to a substance, Ice,” he said.
‘’This substance affected me a lot”
He also stated that the drug influenced him so badly that he was beginning to see himself as ‘’a king” and that he didn’t need to pay for any item he purchased. He said one day he walked from Awoyaya, a suburb in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos to the Oriental Hotel, located on the Island.
Solidstar had his breakthrough when he was signed by Ossy Achievas to Achievas Entertainment. In 2010, he released his debut album “One In A Million” which went on to become a huge hit.
“One in a Million”, one of the most successful singles in the album was subsequently remixed and featured Africa’s legend 2face Idibia.
