What respect can the dead ask for, but a proper burial and respect of their memory?
This was what late Idowu Timi of the Afinaware quarters in the Patani Local Government Area of the state got on Saturday, March 14 when she was laid to rest in Delta State.
Activities to mark the celebration started on Thursday, March 12 with Service of Songs at the residence of Hon. (Dr.) Tonye Timi at Liberty Estate, GRA Core Area, Asaba, while the all-night wake-keep was held at her family quarters in Otouware, Patani LGA before the funeral service and internment at Hon. Timi’s compound in Afinaware quarters.
The colourful event which attracted the high and mighty in the state saw the presence of the first citizen of the state, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and his deputy, Deacon Kingsley Otuaro.
Late Timi died on November 15, at the ripe age of 88. Fioteidor Timi, one of the sons of the deceased who spoke about his mother said she did not leave millions behind in her safe, but left behind enduring legacies worth much more than millions.
