A new Editorial Advisory Board has been inaugurated for Independent Newspapers Limited.
Members of the new Editorial Advisory Board include Mr Hassan Bello, Executive Secretary Nigerian Shippers Council (NSC); Comrade Ayuba Wabba, (mni) President Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC); and Mr Prince Felix Oba Okojie, Chairman Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN).
Others include Mr Henry Boyo, Economist and Member National Executive Council Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN); Barrister Musa Lawal, General Secretary Trade Union Congress (TUC); and Mr Jonathan Ishaku, former Managing Director Plateau Printing and Publishing Company.
Members of the new Editorial Advisory Board were unveiled at an inauguration ceremony which held today, Thursday, September 9, at the premises of the media house.
During his opening remarks, Mr Ade Ogidan, Managing Director/ Editor-In-Chief, Independent Newspapers Limited (INL), stated that the members of the board were chosen after a very detailed search and screening of the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria.

Assuring staffs of the company, Ogidan, stated that they had endured a lot of things in the past and can be rest assured that this is the time of harvest. Further, he stated that the plan of the current management is to ensure that by the end of the year the company becomes the best media house for any aspiring journalist in Nigeria.
Concluding his remark, Ogidan said that Independent is determined to remain the voice of reason, continuing championing the cause of the truly Independent Nigerian by remaining helpful to him or her in enjoying freedom of speech and expression; freedom of worship; freedom from want, freedom from fear; freedom from ignorance; and freedom from squalor.
Independent Newspapers Limited (INL), with its maiden publication on October 1, 2001, publishes Independent, a five-day-a-week newspaper and the weekend titles namely Saturday Independent and Sunday Independent. It was registered as a company on July 17, 2001, with its Editorial Policy founded on liberal principles, with the principal aim of encouraging all Nigerians to aspire to move our great country to position of eminence in the comity of nations.
