Nothing reduces a person to a level of insignificance like knowing the negative fate that awaits you.
Years back, Jumoke Akinjide, onetime Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), would have been compared to a demigod. Then, she was one of the prized assets of erswhile President Goodluck Jonathan, as he tried to return to office via the 2015 election.
Then, in Ibadan, Oyo state, Akinjide’s father house was the converging point for politicians who sought one favour or the other.
Like every demigod in history, she had little time for a lot of her visitors, as her air of aloofness could have been cut with a knife.
Those days are long gone and Akinjide has since been reduced to who the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), is alleging her to be, a conspirator in a 650 million Naira suit.
Currently walking free courtesy of an administrative bail and her husband Aliyu Pategi standing surety for her, there is no doubt that the woman would cherish turning back the hands of time.
