Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has announced the reinstatement of Muhammadu Sanusi II as the Emir of Kano.
Yusuf announced the reinstatement of Sanusi II shortly after he signed the bill abolishing the five emirates created in 2019, on Thursday, May 23.
Recall that in March 2020, Abdullahi Ganduje, the former governor of Kano State, deposed Sanusi as Emir of Kano “for total disrespect to lawful instructions from the office of the governor”.
With Yusuf’s announcement, Sanusi II becomes the the 14th Emir of Kano.
