Angry villagers in Kastina State have reportedly taken to the streets in a fresh protest over repeated attacks by bandits on their communities.
The protesters reportedly hit the street on Friday, August 7, took to express their anger about the development.
As at the time of this report, the protesters had taken over the Kankara-Katsina road around Marken Dogon Ruwa village in Dutsinma Local Government barricading the road with tree trunks.
Motorists were turned back by the protesters from both ends of the road leaving hundreds of drivers and commuters stranded.
Police from the command has been trying to calm the villagers and to get the road reopened.
This is the fifth protest in two months organised by residents of Katsina over rising insecurity in the state.
Recall that on Tuesday, June 9, no fewer than hundreds of residents of Yan Tumaki in Danmusa Local Government area of Katsina State took to the street of the town to protest repeated attacks by bandits on the community.
The protesters, blamed President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Aminu Wasari for the insecurity in the state.
