The call against men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) is back again.
In 2018, the music industry saw a lot of musicians including Dr. Sid and Reekado Bankz sharing their sad experiences in the hands of the operatives.
The complaint eventually led to a call for the reformation of the squad by the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo.
However, artists have started a new call against the group of seemingly untouchable policemen.
Following the death of Kolade Johnson, a football fan who was allegedly killed by officials of SARS, rappers Falz and Ruggedman took to their social media account to criticise the officers.
Falz ask “What is the difference between these SARS guys and armed robbers/assassins?” while Ruggedman also took to his own social media to call out Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Yomi Shogunle, a strong supporter of SARS for blocking him when he asked what the police would do to the killer of the Johnson.
