Erstwhile Emir of Kaduna, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has gotten a new appointment in Kaduna State.
Sanusi is officially the vice-chairman of the Kaduna Investment Promotion Agency (KADIPA).
Governor Nasir El-Rufai confirmed the appointment at the formal inauguration of the KADIPA board on Thursday, March 2.
The governor thanked the former emir for accepting to serve the people of the state. He also urged the board, chaired by Hadiza Balarabe, his deputy, to double its efforts in making the state the topmost investment destination in Nigeria.
El-Rufai pointed out that KADIPA will be competing not just with other states in Nigeria, but with all emerging markets.
The governor said the agency should not rest on its oars in its drive to attract investment to Kaduna. He disclosed that KADIPA has attracted over $2.1 billion in actual and pledged investments since 2015.
