Saheed Mosadoluwa, Chairman of Ibile Holdings Limited, has leveled serious allegations against the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and a retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Olatoye Durosinmi.

In a video, Mosadoluwa, also known as Saheed Ibile, claimed that the police’s decision to declare him wanted is malicious and aimed at tarnishing his reputation. He described the situation as the work of alleged land grabbers in police uniforms, accusing AIG Durosinmi of orchestrating the declaration through the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC) Admin in Zone 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos, on September 6, 2024, without formally inviting him for questioning.

Mosadoluwa further alleged that journalists informed him of a press conference organized by Taofeek Tijani, who claimed to be the Officer in Charge (OC) of the Burnt Unit in Zone 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos. He stated that Tijani and the DC Admin declared him wanted on charges of kidnapping, land grabbing, and other accusations, which he vehemently denied. Mosadoluwa claimed the allegations were part of a broader conspiracy to damage his business.

“I have not kidnapped anyone,” Mosadoluwa asserted, adding that the accusations were intended to discredit him and his company. He also denied responsibility for breaking Olayinka Igbinoba’s leg, despite the individual’s claims and a lawsuit filed by the Lagos State government.

Mosadoluwa also alleged that any online publications declaring him wanted by the Nigeria Police Force were not the result of official actions, but rather the work of land grabbers in police uniforms, acting under the influence of Durosinmi.

“No one has officially invited me,” Mosadoluwa said. “If they have, they should present it to the public. All they intend to do is hijack my property. These are lies being spread by people hiding behind police uniforms to strengthen their land-grabbing business.”

Additionally, Mosadoluwa accused Durosinmi of demanding ₦150 million in exchange for “settling” his issues with the Inspector General of Police. According to Mosadoluwa, after refusing to pay the bribe, a conspiracy was launched to demolish his property and damage his image.

He claimed that some police officers ignored Federal High Court restraining orders against AIG Durosinmi and his team, and went ahead with demolishing his property. Despite an initial demand for ₦150 million, Mosadoluwa insisted he would not pay anyone, including Tijani, who allegedly promised to take him to the Inspector General’s house if he arranged the payment.

In response, a police source who requested anonymity dismissed Mosadoluwa’s claims as fabrications. The source explained that Mosadoluwa was declared wanted after repeated attempts to summon him for questioning regarding allegations against him failed.

“We acted on a petition, but when we invited him, he refused to cooperate. Instead, he threatened our officers investigating a land-grabbing and threat-to-life case in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos,” the source said. “His allegations are baseless and aimed at diverting attention.”

The source also mentioned that the police hierarchy is investigating Mosadoluwa’s accusations, particularly the claims of police involvement in land scandals. The gravity of these accusations has reportedly drawn the attention of the Police Service Commission (PSC).

Efforts to reach the police spokesperson for Zone 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos, SP Ayuba Umma, were unsuccessful. The Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Muyiwa Adejobi, declined to comment, saying, “Call the Zonal Police Public Relation Officer (ZPRO) for Zone 2, they are in charge of the case. I don’t have details.”

The situation took a darker turn following a viral video in which Chief (Mrs.) Dupe Oni-Orisan Damazio accused Mosadoluwa of physically assaulting her after an alleged attempted kidnapping. Damazio, the matriarch of the Oni-Orisan family, was seen in the video with injuries, claiming that Mosadoluwa had manhandled her.

In response, the Oni-Orisan family petitioned the police, accusing Mosadoluwa of terrorizing landowners in the Ibeju Lekki area. The petition, obtained by *The Octopus News*, alleged that Mosadoluwa and his thugs blocked a road, causing disruption to residents, and kidnapped Damazio and another family member, Mr. Adeniji Adele, taking them to an unknown location.

The family also claimed that Mosadoluwa had a long history of disputes with landowners in the area, often accompanied by heavily armed policemen.
