Moyosore Ewatomi Afolabi, the daughter of deceased Yoruba actor, Murphy Afolabi has spoken on life since her father’s death.
Recall that the Osogbo, Osun State-born actor passed on to the great beyond on May 15th, 2023, days after his 49th birthday.
On May 5th, 2024, Moyosore who is a secondary school student took to her social media page to share her thoughts about missing her dad, as she wrote ” Happy Birthday to You Dad, I Miss You Every Day”.
Speaking exclusively to journalist, Gbolahan Adetayo, she shared her life’s challenges since her father’s passing.
“It hasn’t been easy since his departure. If you know the story, you’ll understand that it was difficult for me to be close to him when he was alive. However, he later brought me closer to him, and we became best of friends. Even at my tender age, he loved me dearly, but I loved him even more. He was a man with a heart of gold, and his untimely demise has left a deep void. Each time I remember that I no longer have a father, I experience immense trauma.
“Sometimes, the memories overwhelm me to the point of fainting. When I regain consciousness, those who rescue me often report that I call out for my father. I bless God for the great mother I have, she’s always standing beside me. Sometimes, I behaves naughty, but she still corrects me. It’s been exactly one year today, and the reality of his absence weighs heavily on me. I miss him dearly. May his soul continue to rest in peace,” she said.
