Minimum Wage: Nigeria Might Be Set For Mother Of All Inflation That Will Destroy The Economy-Omokri

Popular activist, Reno Omokri has reacted to the new minimum wage being demanded by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
In a post shared on X, Omokri noted that ₦494,000 is more than sixteen times the current minimum wage of ₦30,000, adding that if the Federal Government accepts that as the new minimum wage, and Nigeria’s production capacity does not also increase times sixteen, it will lead to the mother of all inflation that will destroy the Nigerian economy and turn Nigerians into Zimbabwe and Venezuela.
He wondered what producers of goods and services, like Dangote, Indomie, Nestle, Flour Mills of Nigeria, Glo, petrol stations, etc, would charge for their product if they have to pay their staff a minimum of ₦494,000
Omokri added that the situation would amount to a worker jumping from frying pan to fire!
Questioning the rational for the new minimum wage, Omokri noted that Joel Ajaero, and his gang are not economists, and worse still, they are supporters of Peter Obi.
He added that they endorsed Obi during the election, campaigned for him, and defended him, stating that the NLC is fighting a proxy war for Obi.
Omokri opined that if the Federal Government should give in to their outrageous demands, it is the masses who will suffer.
“Ajaeeo is not poor. He has money. He travels abroad in style. He can relocate his family. It is you and your family that will bear the brunt of this politician in labour union clothes,” he concluded.
