A rowdy session took place in the House of Representatives on Wednesday, July 3.
This follows Femi Gbajabiamila’s decision to announce Ndudi Elumelu as minority leader despite the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) picking another candidate.
Premium Times reports that the PDP had sent a letter to the House nominating Kingsley Chinda as minority leader on Wednesday, July 3.
However, the speaker of the House ignored the party’s nominee and announced Ndudi Elumelu also of the PDP.
According to report, an unidentified lawmaker grabbed the mace in the midst of the rowdy session caused by the action of the speaker. The letter which was sent to Gbajabiamila was signed by the PDP chairman, Uche Secondus, and its secretary, Umar Tsauri. A similar letter was sent to Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, by the PDP which he duly read out on the party’s nominee for Senate minority leader.
