Great men are not respected by their timidity, but by the courageous steps that they take.
This is why men like Obafemi Awolowo, Mahatma Ghandi and Martin Luther King are revered even in death. It is also why Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi is respected today, having radically reformed the banking sector.
One man who has seemingly joined this league of men by some people’s analysis is Jim Obazee.
Sandwiched by all sorts of attacks, Obazee has been standing tall. The ex-boss of Financial Reporting Council (FRC), who was recently sacked for pegging the tenure of church’s General Overseers (GO), to 20 years has silently received the nod of some people for his action at regulating the church.
Despite the load of criticisms from far and wide, Obazee like some of the courageous men earlier mentioned has been standing tall believing in his action.
Friends and associates of the man who have agreed with the need to peg tenures of GOs have been asking if the lifestyle displayed by some Nigerian pastors is not enough to justify such an action.
