Hip pop singer, Davido, has been dragged before an Igbosere Magistrate Court in Lagos State.
The singer was dragged to court over an alleged fraud of N4, 000,000.00.
In the matter which came up for mentioning on May 23, Adedeji Adeleke popular as Davido, his Personal Assistant Busari Idris Temitiope also known as Aloma and the artiste’s label Davido Music Worldwide Limited were listed as defendants in the suit marked MCL/702/19.

According to the statement of claim, Davido and his Personal Assistant are being sued for fraudulently obtaining the sum of N4, 000,000.00 only from an American-based Nigerian named Andre- Tejiri Ochuko Ibhihwiori.
The up and coming act, an artiste on Always on Cash Record had parted with the money as fee to feature in a musical collabo with artist Tjay sometime in January, 2019. However, Davido has not made himself available for the music collabo or refund the money.
The plaintiff is already asking for 15% interest on the principal sum of N4,000,000.00 from the date of payment to any date that the sum is finally liquidated.

Interestingly, when the matter was called neither of the defendants were in court nor were they represented by their lawyers.
The claimant in the case, Alabh George Turnah, (MON) informed the court that the defendants according to the bailiff of the court refused to accept service of the originating processes. He there pleaded with the court for an order for substituted service, which the Court granted.
