Nigeria’s amputee football team escaped death, as they were involved in an auto accident on their way to Abuja.
The team were on their way to keep a visa appointment with the Mexican Embassy, but narrowly escaped death when their bus veered off the road.
There was no loss of life from the accident that happened on the Lokoja-Abuja expressway, some of the players sustained minor injuries and scrapes.
After recovering from the incident, the team headed to the embassy where they were granted visas to Mexico where the Amputee World Cup kicks off October 24 in San Juan and Guadalajara.
Nigeria is grouped alongside defending champions Russia, Brazil and El Salvador.
