Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has approved the appointment of a new Emir for Zazzau.
Amb. Ahmed Nuhu-Bamalli is the 19th Emir of Zazzau.
A statement signed by the state Commissioner of Local Government Affairs, Ja’afaru Ibrahim-Sani, on Wednesday, October 7 confirmed the appointment.
The statement read in part:
“The appointment is with immediate effect. All other arrangements for the installation ceremony and presentation of Staff of Office would be announced in due course,” the Emir’s letter of appointment read.
“Amb. Bamalli studied Law at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and holds a master’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy and a diploma in Organisational Leadership from Oxford University. He is also a fellow on Conflict Resolution of the University of York, United Kingdom (UK), the statement said
The new Emir takes over from the last Shehu Idris who died in September after a brief illness.
