Ibitayo Jeje, better known as the ‘Queen of Highlife’, has released a brand new single and music video from her forthcoming third album titled ‘Why You Love Me So’.
The video features the former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, who is debuting in his first creative performance of such.
Ibitayo is one of Nigeria’s female singing personalities, and is gradually becoming one of the most influential voices in the music scene. She started her music career professionally over 10 years ago,
and is the daughter of a foremost gospel minister, Rev Bola Arowolo based in the USA.
Her New Album set to be released early 2014 contains African inspired songs and experiences, and her style is a blend of contemporary highlife music, with a fusion of English, pidgin and vernacular. The new song “Why You Love Me So” is borne out of true real life experiences. The music video was shot and directed by Oluyinka Davids.
