Indigenous rapper, Olamide, has released his 11th studio album.
The album titled ‘Carpe Diem’ dropped on Thursday, October 7.
A sequel to “999” released in January 2020, ‘Carpe Diem’ is Latin for a plea used to urge someone to make the most of the present time and give little thought to the future.
“The project is a reflection of my mind, and also the current sound brewing underground in Nigeria.
“It’s a combination of a lot of traditional elements and also a sound from way back in Nigeria called galala, which has a little bit of reggae/dancehall. It’s also a fusion of something we call Celestial, which is when you are playing secular music in church. It’s like taking pop to the church,” Olamide is quoted to have said while speaking on the album.
‘Carpe Diem’ is the second album to drop from the imprint of YBNL, with that of Fireboy having dropped earlier.
