What is in a statue? This is one question a lot of people have been forced to ask.
However, depending on what the statue represents, the question is indeed not out of place.
For members of the All Progressive Congress (APC), the statue of Pa Obafemi Awolowo means a lot, as the late sage and nationalist has left his footprint in the sands of time.
To this effect, honouring his family with a 20-feet statue in a strategic location as Obafemi Awolowo Way, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos speaks volume.

The manner with which the event held is what has however been criticised by a lot of people.
With the construction of the statue finished, common sense would have simply been for it to be concealed till when it is ready for commissioning.
However, in this case, the statue was left unclad for all to see. Shockingly, with just days to its commissioning by the Lagos State Governor, Akinwumi Ambode, the statue wore a new cloak of concealment spurring questions of what is the sense in concealing it when most people plying that area are aware of what the statue looks like.
