Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a man for disposing his waste wrongfully.
The young man who was arrested around Eti-Osa local government area of Lagos state, was caught burning his waste.
The Lagos Waste Management Authority, (LAWMA), shared a video showing the moment the man was arrested and wrote;
“CAUGHT IN THE ACT OF WASTE BURNING LAWMA enforcement, personally supervised by the Managing Director/CEO, Mr. Ibrahim Odumboni, this morning arrested an environmental defaulter for waste burning at Eti-Osa axis.
“He has since been taken to Oshodi mobile court for prosecution, and a minimum of three months prison sentence awaits him. We appeal to residents to make conscious efforts to shun acts capable of endangering the environment and people living in it.”
