What might eventually become a total purge has began with the sack of President Goodluck Jonathan’s Chief of Staff, Mike Ogiadome.
According to sources, Jonathan asked Oghiadomhe to resign with immediate effect after security agencies revealed his involvement in the fraud at the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
The President, is expected to name a new Chief of Staff any time from now.
It would be recalled that after the swearing- in of the President on May 29,2011, the media was awash with reports that Chief Oghiadomhe may not be re-appointed to his position in the new administration. Then many names were speculated as possible replacements but as the proverbial cat with nine lives, the former Deputy governor of Edo state later proved pundits wrong with his emergence as one of the chief strategists of the Jonathan presidency.
