-Bank Maintain Customers Data, Funds Safe
A false report that hackers have seized the official website of Guarantee Trust Bank (GTB), has been rubbished by the financial institution.
An online report with no basis had reported that Nigeria’s leading commercial bank’s website had been seized by hackers.
However, a top GTB executive who spoke with www.theoctopusnews.com on condition of anonymity refuted the story.
He also assured that customers information, money and data are safe, denying the reported false tale of massive phishing operation and potential interception of customer data.
“The claim is entirely untrue, the bank is only experiencing a connectivity issue, but it has nothing to do with hacking.
“It’s false. What we are experiencing is a connectivity issue and has nothing to do with the alleged hacking”, he said.
GTBank is noted for its high operating standards, winning several awards including Banking App of the year award (GT Mobile) and Best Web Series award at the Gage awards.
In recognition of the Bank’s efforts in promoting financial inclusion in Nigeria, GTBank emerged winner of the 2014 EFInA award for enhancing access to financial services for Nigerians, especially the low income population and being a leader in facilitating an all-inclusive financial system.
