News Reps Set To Sue Akpabio For Perjury Published 5 years ago on July 23, 2020 By The Octopus News Admin There are plans by the House of Representatives to sue the Minister for Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio. Bearing any last minute changes, Akpabio will be sued by the lower chamber for perjury. According to the Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila, during plenary on Thursday, the Clerk has been urged to engage lawyers to file the suit after the Minister failed to respond to the House request to publish the list of members who got contracts from the Niger Delta Development Commission (NCDC). Gbajabiamila vowed he will not preside over the House and allow anybody to tarnish its image for whatever reason. Recall that Akpabio during a session with the Ad hoc committee on Niger Delta had told the panel that 60 per cent of NDDC contracts are awarded to members of the National Assembly.
