The controversy rocking the Rivers State House of Assembly has taken a new dimension.
This is as the 26 lawmakers loyal to Nyesom WIke have withdrawn their notice of impeachment against Governor Sim Fubara.
The lawmakers met at the State House of Assembly quarters this morning Wednesday, December 20 where they withdrew the notice.
Recall that the state governor and Wike have been at loggerheads over the governance of the state. Both men had a meeting with President Bola Tinubu on Monday, December 18, where it was agreed that all impeachment proceedings initiated against the Governor of Rivers State by the Rivers State House of Assembly should be dropped immediately.
It was also agreed that the leadership of the Rivers State House of Assembly as led by the Rt. Hon. Martin Amaewhule shall be recognized alongside the 27 members who resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
