The message inherent in the saying “a clear conscience fears no accusation” is indeed deep.
One man who appears to be aware of this is Segun Banjo, the chubby former Lagos State Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget.
A victim of circumstance having served under the immediate past government of Akinwunmi Ambode, Banjo had been dragged into the ongoing extra-budgetary expenditure claims brought against the erstwhile first citizen of Lagos State.
Arising from plenary on Thursday, October 10, Lagos State lawmakers threatened to issue an arrest warrant for Ambode and four of his commissioners including Banjo.
However, like a man with integrity to protect, Banjo quickly dusted his hat, clearing himself of any culpability in the purchase of the now controversial 820 buses.
Like a man with an impeccable personality, he also offered himself for probe, rubbishing all insinuated claim thrown his path due to the deal gone bad.
