A wicked and unconfirmed report is making the rounds about Pastor Ize-Iyamu, the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), in the forthcoming Edo State election.
According to the report, an HIV/AIDS test result that found its way to the internet belongs to the grassroots politician.
Confirming the speculation, an official of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Dr. Lizzy Oghenerume, validated the result that hit the internet some hours ago.
The doctor who is alleged to be a colleague of Pastor Iyamu’s wife, Prof. Idia Ize-Iyamu at UBTH was allegedly quoted to have said: “It is true that Pastor Ize-Iyamu has HIV/AIDS, though doctors normally do not disclose this to the public. But as someone who wants to be governor of Edo State, he should be courageous enough to talk about his HIV/AIDS status.”
Dr. Oghenerume is alleged to have added that: “I am aware that Ize-Iyamu’s wife has been diverting antiretroviral drugs meant for poor people who have the disease in the state to her husband, to keep him alive, so it is no news that the APC candidate has the disease.
“Osagie Ize-Iyamu has had many crises in the past, which led to his hospitalisation here, so most doctors here know he has AIDS. According to his friends, Ize-Iyamu contracted the disease some years ago when he was very influential in government and had sex romps with several campus girls in Government House.
“He said he used to sleep with six to seven girls at a time and it was in one of those occasions that he got infected and since then, the family has been dealing with the burden, Dr. Oghenerume” is quoted to have said.
Meanwhile, the gubernatorial candidate is yet to react to the wicked allegation even as it continues to trend on social media.
