Music Singer, Portable Reacts To Being Declared Wanted By Police Published 3 days ago on February 18, 2025 By The Octopus News Admin ‘Zazzu’ singer, Portable, has reacted to being declined wanted by the Nigeria Police. The singer was declared wanted in a Special Police Gazette Bulletin published on Tuesday, February 18. According to the gazette, Portable is wanted for assaulting officials of the Ogun State government. Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command stated on Monday that Portable was declared wanted after repeatedly disregarding formal invitations. Reacting to the development via a post on Instagram, Portable explained that he had been unwell and feared being detained, hence he could not honour the police invitation. He emphasized that he had not committed any crime and begged the Ogun government for forgiveness. “They set me up with the government. I didn’t have any issue with the police. I am not a criminal, I was sick and scared,” he stated. “I do not want to die young. I do not want them to lock me up, I did not do anything bad. I’m human, I am not perfect. If I wronged you, I am sorry.” In a separate post, the singer shared a photo of a scar on his body, claiming he had been hospitalized due to ongoing pain. He described his ordeal as a “spiritual attack” and called for divine intervention. “All this evil thing wey dey happen to me na spiritual attack. God save me. I’m facing a lot of sicknesses all over my body. I’m taking care of myself. Pain in my body. Make Ogun State government forgive me,” he wrote. “Na hospital I dey all these days. God please because of my children do not let my enemy shame me. Pain will go, joy go come.” Portable’s travails began on February 5, when officials from the Ogun State Planning and Development Permit Authority (OGPDPA) attempted to seal his bar due to the absence of approved permits and insufficient air space. The singer allegedly assaulted the officials during the process. As a result, nine of Portable’s associates were arrested and arraigned on five charges, including armed violence, felony, obstruction, assault, and intent to kill. They were granted bail of N5 million each, with sureties who are licensed bond agents registered with the state government. The case has been adjourned until March 17 for further proceedings.
