An unheard-of musician before his relationship with Priscilla Ojo went public, Juma Jux is fast becoming a sensation in both Nigeria and the African music industry.
This is not without credit to fans of both Priscilla and her actress mother, Iyabo Ojo.
With credit to songs such as “Si Mimi”, “Mwinyi”, and “Ololufemi”, which featured Flavour, the average Nigerian music buff would still ask “Who Is This”, but not anymore as Juma Jux is surely building a teeming fan base in Nigeria.
Is it a fan base that would last for long, that is another ball game, but one sure fact is that Juma Jux’s latest single “God Design” is gradually becoming an anthem among lovers.
Little wonder the singer emerged winner of Best East African Artiste of the Year category at the 17th Headiest Awards tagged “Back To Base” and held in Lagos, Nigeria on Sunday, April 27.
He came top ahead of other notable nominees such as Bien (Kenya), Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania), Bruce Melodie (Rwanda), and Azawi (Uganda).

Apart from his win as Best East African Artiste of the Year, Juma Jux gave one of the most colourful performances of the award, seeing Chioma Ikoku, popularly known as Chiomagoodhair, dissing the performance of Nigerian artists at the award.
The businesswoman took to Snapchat to endorse Juma Jux as the artist of the award. She shared a video of Juma Jux performing at the award event and captioned it “undoubtedly the best performance of the night”.
She then stated that many Nigerian performers do not put in enough effort in their performance.
“Majority are terrible and have no business being on stage,” she wrote.
