Tunde Fowler, the Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), has proven that his shine as the Executive Chairman, Lagos State Board of Internal Revenue and Chief Executive Officer, Lagos State Internal Revenue Service wasn’t a fluke.
Since assuming responsibility as the boss of FIRS in Abuja, it has been one form of praise or the other.
Fowler’s accolade is not limited to Lagos and indeed Nigeria, as he is noted to have led taxmen from different countries in Africa to Pretoria South Africa, in a bid to chart a better tax administration for Africa.
Asides this, his election as the first Vice Chairman of United Nations Committee of Expert on International Cooperation in Tax Matter is also laudable.
Latest in Fowler’s accolades is the fact that his agency recently generated N3.233 trillion in 10 months, an amount said to be 79.35 per cent of the agency’s collection target for this year. For a lot of people, this is indeed a laudable achievement worth celebrating.
