Ambition makes a lot of men do funny things. They hastily forget the popular saying that a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
I think Senator Ademola Adeleke is not concerned about all that.
A man of little ambition in governance, Adeleke got the opportunity to play politics with the ‘big boys’ when he won the bye-election to refill the vacant office that had been left by his dead brother, Senator Isiaka Adeleke.
After becoming a Senator, he set his gaze on another target which his deceased brother once held, the office of the first citizen of Osun state.
To contest the office of the Governor of Osun state, Adeleke, had to resign his office as a Senator.
Though the tides are still favouring him having won the primary election to represent his party Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the gubernatorial election, his ability to win the election on Saturday, September 22, is what will save him from being tagged “pennywise pound foolish”.
