There are reports that three People Democratic Party (PDP) governors are currently meeting with the All Progressive Congress (APC) in a bid to defect to the ruling party.
A PDP source in the political circle claimed that if the meeting is successful, the governors will defect to the APC.
The source was reported to have said that the party has not yet ascertained why the governors are considering defecting to the APC.
The names of the governors said to be considering defection include: 1. Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State, and Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State.
Recall that in a party meeting in Abuja on Thursday, November 19, governors on the platform of the PDP pledged their loyalty to the party.
Aminu Tambuwal, the chairman of the PDP governor’s forum who spoke on behalf of his colleagues, said they are committed to the goals of the party.
He said: “All 15 of us are here present. We are individually committed to good governance in our various states in order to make our party strong.
“This is a clear statement that we are united and working towards strengthening our party for the future.”
