Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, has resigned from his position.
This disclosure was made by Bashir Ahmad, one of President Muhammadu Buhari’s media aides on Friday, March 31.
According to Ahmad, Sylva resigned to contest the next Bayelsa governorship election.
He tweeted;
“Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, and former Bayelsa State governor, H.E. Timipre Sylva, has resigned his appointment to contest in the next Bayelsa governorship election.”
Recall that Sylva was the Governor of Bayelsa State from 2008 to 2012. He has tried on several occassions to get a second tenure but has failed.
