Nigerians have been assured that the nation’s borders will soon be reopened for commercial activities.
The assurance was given by Sesi Whingah, the lawmaker representing Badagry Constituency in the House of Representatives.
Whingah spoke during a Badagry Stakeholders and Youth Engagement event organized by his office on Saturday, August 31.
During the engagement, Whingah addressed concerns from local business owners and traders affected by the prolonged closure of the borders, which has significantly impacted commercial activities in the region. He emphasized that the government is actively working on strategies to boost internal revenue and that reopening the borders is part of these broader economic plans.
“This is a policy that we believe needs to be done and will lead to good. The current administration will soon open borders for commercial activities; I know it is affecting us and our incomes. I know what my constituents are going through,” he said.
