The Lagos Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, and Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate in the 2023 general election, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, (GRV) have disagreed over the cause of flooding in Lagos.

In a post shared on his X handle, Gbadebo shared a video of a canal in Lekki Phase 1 covered with weeds and asked if it is the responsibility of the citizens to clear the canal for easy flow of rainwater or the government.
‘’Here is a Canal in Lekki overgrown with weeds that disrupts the free flow of water. As i always say, It is far easier to clear canals than it is to demolish buildings,” he wrote.
In response to GRV’s question, Wahab who appeared unsettled wrote;
‘’Eventually, you will be fine.”
